Helium Hotspots need to be at least 800 meters apart in order to provide optimal coverage and maximize their earnings. This is why we can only provide Hotspots to certain locations and we only need one host in your immediate area. You won’t be able to host more than one device in your home - they simply won’t provide any additional coverage or earnings. As much as we’d like to be able to do all of our HNT mining from one convenient location, the truth is that we need homeowners and commercial property owners like you to help us spread out our hotspots and build The People's Network!
There are nearly no costs involved in running a Helium Hotspot. The device uses minimal electricity (more or less 5W at its peak), costing less to run than a standard LED lightbulb. The device will need to utilize your internet to function, but the average bandwidth used is very low - between 1 and 5 kb/s.
